Rob,

You did an outstanding job with the "Observers Challenge".

The LVAS website is second to none. I sent out an e-mail earlier this morning to many observers and amateurs here on the east coast, advising them to take a look. I have received some excellent reports already. It will be going to groups and clubs tonight.

Rob, Fred,

With the professional look of the LVAS site, I have some ideas. Would you gentlemen be willing to co-author the Virgo Diamond article with me, and put it on the forum? I have all of the information, and observation reports. It would be compiled by the three of us, using plenty of information that "we" have already accumulated. We have images, sketches, and plenty of notes. This should be a joint effort as it would not have been possible without the LV forum and now the website.

We could talk about the particulars later, but it would require the efforts of each. This would only advance the LVAS as a group of serious and talented amateurs. The website would make it look so good ... who could resist. The article would already be in place. Would the both of you be willing to consider this? I think it could be easily put together in a couple of days or less with a minimum of effort. It doesn't need to be very lengthy. A former editor told me to make every word count as space is always an issue in a magazine.

This joint effort would allow for a greater chance for it to be in S&T early next spring. This would also allow the editors at S&T to see our current and future works regarding the "Observers Challenge"....and again the opportunity for more articles or at least references.

The LVAS website could become the place to go for many advanced amateurs, book authors, and others seeking a more serious site for "observing data".
