Despite making several mirrors which include some algebraic formulas, I always thought setting circles were too complicated math-wise. The reality of it is that it isn't near as difficult as I made it out to be. Never ended up with a mount that had them until a few years ago when I inherited a Meade 60mm refractor on an equatorial from my wife's uncle. After 40+ years observing, I'm just so used to finding things manually that I can't see learning how to use circles. Besides, that would involve an equatorial mount, which I don't have for the Dob.<BR>
<BR>
However, I think it's admirable that you two can use them in lieu of a GOTO, which seems to be the in thing, especially with newbies that don't know the sky, or those that just don't want to bother with finding stuff.<BR>

On the 25th, weather permitting, I'm going to nail the Virgo Diamond manually, with just my green laser and a star chart. Well... that's the plan!<BR>
