Forgot to add my coments about your observatory in the last e-mail!<BR>

You have a pretty neat setup! I remember those old DS scopes too. Pretty cool. I also like that you have a bathroom so close.<BR>

It reminds me of living in Spain. I used to live in a little pueblo called Eurovillas, which is about 40 miles from Madrid. Anyway, the nights I wanted to observe, I'd go around the neighborhood and pull the circuit breakers out of all the streetlights. Worked like a charm! The locals got used to me doing it and never complained. I always plugged them back in when I was done. I didn't have to break the scope down either, as I kept it in the backyard under a tarp.<BR>

In Oklahoma, I lived in a little town called Tipton, and despite being so isolated where you'd think it'd be dark, it seemed everyone and their brother had a security light. And, since it was flat as a pancake, you could see lights miles off! Yet, in my back yard, it wasn't bad for about five years until my neighbor put a security light on a pole right next to my scope!<BR>

Here, I've taken the scope in the back yard, just to look at the Moon, or maybe Jupiter or Saturn, but that's about it. Can't even see enough stars to find anything else.<BR>

Fred,<BR> <BR>Thank you for the very kind words. I really enjoy sketching and by doing so as i mentioned earlier it allows me to see the finer details of very faint objects to greater level.<BR> <BR>On occasion I have had request for some of my sketches. Sometimes the person will request a particular object or I just select one. I number all of the sketches that I give away and keep a log of that object and the "sequel" number for that sketch. All of the sketches are original in a sense. I try to duplicate the original "verbatim" as humanly close as possible. It takes me about 45 minutes to make an "original" copy.<BR> <BR>I actually have two framed "like on the wall" in Terence Dickinson's house at the Arizona Sky Village. I am sure that you remember him. He did many of those wonderful books for Edmund Scientific back in the 70's with Sam Brown. He is even featured in "Wikipedia". When you get there I guess you could say you have made it in whatever you do. <BR> <BR>I would be honored and delighted to send you a numbered sketch if you will send me your physical address. I was observing last night and working on a new sketch to enter into the astro sketching and art contest at our "Regional gathering of Amateur Astronomers" this Saturday at Gardner-Webb University. This is our 17th annual event. Due to small number we don't have a beautiful website like the LVAS but is satisfactory. <BR> <BR>I will send you a photo of my "humble" backyard observatory with some of my observations of interest from last nights observing session.<BR> <BR>If you are wondering how I became a member of the LVAS. My Son Brad, daughter-in-law Lauren and my beautiful Granddaughter Zoe have lived there for about five years. They moved from Beverly Hills, moved and purchased a house in Hollywood, sold it and now own a home in LV. I use a white charcoal pencil on black cardstock, and for many years I used a No. 2 pencil on white paper. I have been fortunate to accumulate over a thousand sketches.<BR> <BR>Roger<BR><BR><BR><BR><BR>
