I went Saturday night - could go Friday, but probably a good thing.
Weather Friday night was not suitable for viewing. Pedro got the most
objects Friday night, but he only got 10, so that should give you some idea.
Saturday night, much better. I was able to observe from Sun down to Sun
up. Tried observing without using the Object Locator. Only used it to
confirm identity of objects. Missed M74 and M33 at beginning - just
couldn't pull them out of the glow from setting Sun. Because I was
somewhat slow in locating objects manually, I missed the last 12 or so
objects, because of the rising sun. If I had had another hour of
darkness I would have gotten probably everything but M30, which is
impossible to get from here. I had a blast. It wasn't too cold, but it
was breezy most of the night. I think Pedro and I were the only ones to
stay up all night. Not sure about Roy Hansen and his crew.
Anyway, I learned a lot and located a lot of objects manually. I was
pleased with what I was able to do.
Talk to you later.
Rob
