Planned Observing Technique for Asteroid occultation of TYC-2501-00817-1 by
70 Panopaea on Jan.11
Method: video with frame analysis
Timing: gps - other linking (timestamp inserted)
Location: Redstone Picnic Area at Lake Mead (2241')
I found a timestamp for asteroid occultations through VirtualDub image
capture software. It will be accurate up to 1/30th of a second for this
event (at 30FPS).
See here my Mallincam Example Test Video with the new Timestamp:
http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=8601119845496487863
The 30 arcminute field of view will look something like this:

and I'm hoping for no hardware malfunctions on Jan 11 at ~10:07pm. exciting.
Is anyone else planning to observe the asteroid occultation visually or with
a videocamera? if so, please share.
